E Mei Mountain
One of the four great Buddhist mountains in China, Mount Emei is situated in southwestern Sichuan at the mysterious 30° Latitude N, standing tall between the Qingyi River and the Dadu River, with its highest peak reaching 3,099 meters in elevation. The Golden Top is particularly memorable for featuring the largest gold Buddha, the statue of Samantabhadra; the largest metallic architecture complex including the magnificent fold, silver and copper halls and the greatest spot for viewing the six wonders, namely the cloud sea, sunrise, Buddha’s light, Buddha’s lanterns, gold palace and the gold Buddha. For its unbelievably celestial natural landscape and profound Buddhist culture, Mount Emei has been included in the UNESCO’s list of World Cultural and Natural Heritages.
