Hong Village
Built around 1131-1162 AD on the southwestern side of Huangshan Mountain, Hong Village used to be the residing community of Wang family. The village adopted the bionic structure of an crouching bull, with Leigang Mountain as its head, two old trees at the village entrance as its horns, the Moon Pond and the Southern Lake forming its stomach, the winding water ditches as its intestines, the bridges as its hooves and houses as its body. More than 140 Huizhou folk houses remain well-preserved. For its integrating nature and culture, Hong Village has been called “the town in a landscape painting”.
